You can use the Show, Filter Rows, and Filter Columns commands in the Integrated Reference File Environment to filter objects by type, file differences, and file type.

Filtering in the Rows showing mapping mode

  1. Click Show, and select an object type to view. For example, click Show > Enumerated lists.

  2. Click Filter Rows to show or hide objects based on their similarities or differences. You can also show or hide the file name rows located at the top of the Reference File Table. For example, unselect In both schemas, no differences to hide objects that exist in both schema files and are not different.

  3. Click Filter Columns to show or hide any of the tool comparison columns. For example, if you opened more than one set of tool schema files to compare, you can hide the tools that you are not actively working on. To hide the SmartPlant P&ID comparison column, click Filter Columns > SmartPlant P&ID. To show the column, follow the same steps.

  4. Click Legend to display a legend that explains the colors used in the Reference File Table.

Filtering in the Independent columns mode

When displaying independent columns, the fourth row of each column should contain either the text "<Unfiltered>" or the text "<Filtered>" which indicates whether filtering has been applied to the column. To specify filtering for a column, click the cell with the "<Unfiltered>" or "<Filtered>" text to display the Set Filtering dialog box. Use this dialog box to choose options about what is displayed in each particular columns and how it is displayed.
