The following applies if you are using a version of the software before Update 34. For the latest information, see Set Data Validator default options.

  1. Click System Options Com_Gear_20 on the main Data Validator window.

  2. On the Job Management page:

    • Select Yes or No to allow the automatic cleanup of failed jobs or those awaiting approval after a specific time interval. If you select Yes, apply the following settings:

      • Set the wait time to the number of days before a job that is awaiting approval can be automatically cleaned up from Data Validator Job Management. The minimum wait time value is 1 day and the maximum value is 365 days. For example, if you have created a job today, and set the wait time to 1 day, then the job is cleaned up automatically any time after one day.

      • Set the wait time to the number of days before a failed job can be deleted from Data Validator Job Management. The minimum wait time value is 1 day and the maximum value is 365 days. For example, if you have created a job today, and set the wait time to 1 day, then the job is cleaned up automatically any time after one day.

    • The job can still be viewed and the reason for failure will be accessible in the Job Management module or the SDx Web Client.

    • The cleaned up job cannot be re-run or submitted for approval.

What happens during the automatic clean up of jobs that are failed or awaiting approval?

The failed jobs/submittals and those awaiting approval can be automatically cleaned up at periodic intervals by configuring the wait time for such clean up. During this process, the staging and landing tables for the failed/awaiting approval jobs/submittals are deleted from the database. The ISPFConfiguration interface is removed from the job/submittal and it is not considered as a configuration object anymore. This ensures better performance during login and a healthy database over time.

Jobs/submittals that are on hold or crashed jobs/submittals will not be part of the automatic cleanup process.
