In Smart Licensing Client, you can change projects and settings as you do your daily work. For example, you might work for a while in a certain project and then switch to a different project. This information can be tracked for accounting or billing purposes.

  • To specify client settings in Smart Licensing Client, your administrator must set up configurations. For more information, see Client Configurations, or contact your licensing administrator.

  • If a user loads the same configuration connection info (.cci) that was loaded before with a different option, such as device or group, the Client Settings tab lists the project and custom field values that were previously selected by that user.

  • Changes made on the Client Settings tab apply to the current user logged on to the computer. If your product is not using the currently logged-on username in license requests, any changes you make on this tab are not relevant.

  • Smart Licensing reads environment variables and displays the values you have set. If a project or a value for a custom field was set using an environment variable, you cannot change that value on the Client Settings tab.

  • If SLENV_ProjectName is set to a non-existent project in the loaded configuration connection info (.cci) file that has fallback project set, the Client Settings tab displays the custom fields of the fallback project.
