Why do I need to check out a license?

You should check out a license when you want to use the licensed application without an Internet connection. Checking out a license allows you to work in the licensed application when your computer is not connected to the license service.

  1. In Smart Licensing Client, select Check Out.

  2. Enter the number of licenses to check out.

  3. Enter the number of days or hours for checkout (1 day = 24 hours).

  4. Select the products for which you want to check out licenses.

    SHARED Tip To update the product list from the server, select Refresh .

  5. Select Check Out.

The licensing administrator can specify the products, licenses, and duration for checkout in the Smart Licensing Portal.
