Info Item Places an information item in the model.

Information items enable you to provide specific details about various parts of the model. Information items that you place in the model are represented by a small square flag. By default, the flag displays an abbreviation (short description) of the type of information item it represents. In the example, two messages (M) and a detail-sketch-identifier (DSI) have been placed in the model.

The table below lists the information items that you can place in the model. The table also includes information regarding any item-specific attributes that you can define in the Properties window.

Information item type
(and short description text)

Description

Key item attributes

BIP-Identifier (BIP)

Identifies the location point where existing pipe-work is to be interrupted with new pipe-work. You can specify a piece of text to be plotted on the drawing.

Text specifies the message required to be displayed on the isometric drawing output.

ByPass-Closure (BCP)

Recommends a suitable point for Isogen to break a complicated bypass.

For more information, refer to the documentation delivered with Isogen.

N/A

Cut-Piece Allowance (CPA)

Specifies the cutting allowance for a pipe.

Allowance specifies the cut-piece allowance for the end of the pipe where it is placed.

Detail-Sketch-Identifier (DSI)

Specifies the identifier of a detail sketch to be plotted on the Isogen drawing associated with the component.

Identifier specifies the identifier of a detailed sketch.

Client-Drawing-Identifier (CDI)

Specifies the user-defined identifier used as the drawing identifier when Isogen generates the isometric.

Identifier specifies the user-defined drawing identifier.

End-Connection-Pipeline(ECP)

Specifies the point at which the pipe is connected to another pipeline.

Pipeline Reference specifies the pipeline reference of the connected pipeline.

Connection Reference specifies the connection reference, if required.

End-Connection-
Equipment (ECE)

Specifies the point at which the pipe is connected to a nozzle.

Connection Reference specifies the equipment reference, if required.

End-Connection-Core (ECC)

Indicates the point at which a Jacket pipeline is connected to a Core pipeline.

Pipeline Reference specifies pipeline reference of the core pipeline system.

End-Position-Closed (EPC)

Indicates that the pipe has a closed end. End coordinates are reported.

N/A

End-Position-Open (EPO)

Indicates that the pipe has an open end. This is the default setting if no information is provided.

N/A

End-Position-Null (ECN)

No information. End coordinates are reported.

N/A

End-Position-Vent (EPV)

Specifies pipe ends at a vent.

N/A

End-Position-Drain (EPD)

Specifies pipe ends at a drain.

N/A

End-Position-Jacket (ECJ)

Indicates the point at which a Core pipeline is connected to a Jacket pipeline.

Smart Isometrics does not currently support sketching jacketed pipelines.

Pipeline Reference specifies the pipeline reference of the jacketed pipeline.

Insulation-Symbol (INS)

Identifies the start/end of insulation or specifies that the section of pipe is insulated.

N/A

Location-Point (LPT)

Indicates an offset to the nearest main steelwork column or floor level. During drawing generation, Isogen plots a location point at the specified position. If the relevant data is available in an external file, the software outputs a table of the location points with reference to a local coordinate system, such as floor plan or steelwork grid.

N/A

Message (M)
Message-Circle (OM)
Message-Diamond (<>M)
Message-Double-Circle (OOM)
Message-Ellipse ({M})
Message-Pointed (<M>)
Message-Round ((M))
Message-Square ([M])
Message-Triangle (/\M)

Displays textual information about the drawing within an enclosure. An enclosure can have different style settings and shapes.

Text specifies the message required to be displayed on the isometric drawing output.

Repeat-Weld-Identifier (RWI)

Identifies a component as having a specific set of weld numbers.

Weld Number 1-9 specifies weld numbers for each component.

Spool-Identifier (SPI)

Identifies/tracks/controls each drawing without using the usual pipeline reference/spool number/identification. The spool drawing number is output only on a spool isometric drawing.

Spool Identifier specifies a user-defined text string that identifies the spool.

Spool Drawing Number specifies a text string used to identify, track, or control an individual drawing.

Spool Attributes 1-9 specifies attributes for the spool.

System-Split (ISP)
Iso-Split-Point (ISP)

Splits the drawing at this point, overriding the normal automatic drawing splitting behavior. You can use this information item to control the production of drawings, ensuring consistent drawing content.

Isometric split points are only valid on pipeline isometrics and system split points are only valid on system isometrics.

Indicator identifies the location of the isometric split.

Thickness-Measurement-
Location (TML)

Specifies the location where inspection points are required.

Name or Tag specifies a unique identifier, such as T-001.

Text specifies supplementary text that can be output with the Name or Tag attribute.

Enclosure specifies the enclosure type used to display the unique identifier and supplementary text.

Status specifies whether the TML is dimensioned. By default, TML is dimensioned where appropriate, unless Status is set to Undimensioned.

Measurement Type specifies the type of measurement.

Measurement Points defines the number of placement points.

Information Attribute specifies an additional user-defined attribute.

This command is also available on the Place toolbar.
