SmartPlant Foundation / SDx Version
10
  • To support the transition of customers from SmartPlant Foundation and SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators to HxGN SDx, we are providing the capability to run both solutions on the same application server. This capability is useful for customers who are finishing a project in SmartPlant Foundation and then hand over the project to an SDx system or customers who see benefits in migrating to SDx. Initially, this could be to build awareness of SDx and investigation of the delivered work processes and data model, leading to the migration or handover.

The SDx Desktop Client application has been rebranded. This includes new locations for its trace files and Server Connections. The SDx Server Manager application has also been rebranded. This includes the SDx Server Manager getting a new executable name (SDxServerManager.exe) and new locations for its trace files. (CR-AM-160859, CR-AM-159793,CR-AM-159795, CR-AM-169800)

In SDx, a few things have changed:

    • The SPFOpen functionality is no longer supported in SDx. This was typically used to send an email to a user with a link which opens the Desktop Client. The ability to do this with Web Client is already supported.

    • The Keep Sites during Uninstall functionality is no longer supported in SDx. SDx Server Manager will now always preserve sites even when the software has been uninstalled.

  • Changes have been made to the HxGN SDx Connector for TruView installer to support its installation on both the SmartPlant Foundation and HxGN SDx (Update 29 and above). New TruView customers should use HxGN SDx Connector for TruView (10.00.29) with HxGN SDx update 29 and later. (DI-AM-171807)

  • The new widget wizard guides administrators through setting up a widget. It provides a clear overview of the possible configurations for each type of widget. The wizard can be accessed from the dashboard configuration screen or by updating the individual widget from the Results grid. For more information, see Create a widget. (CR-AM-168485)

    New Widget Wizard

  • You can now change your password using an external change password provider if your system uses a Single Sign-on cloud system. For more information, see Change your password. (CR-AM-168830)

  • The Communication Management page now allows only the users assigned to the following roles to update the change action: Site Engineer PAB and Project Administrator PAB. However, these roles along with few other PAB roles are allowed to create a change action. For more information, see Create a change action and Prepare the change action. (CR-AM-170711)

  • A new process class SetImpliesAndImpledByToCustInterface now automatically creates Implies and Implies by relationships with custom interfaces in the change request workflow in the SDX3DPAD database. (CR-AM-171291)

  • Administrators can now define the tab to show in the To Do List widget when it is first displayed in a dashboard. For more information, see Create a widget.(CR-AM-171345)

  • Relationship management in the Communication Management windows has been improved. Documents and tags can easily be added or removed from the scope of a technical query, action, change request, as well as maintenance or inspection work packages. With minimal clicks, you can see how to extend or reduce the scope of a technical query, action, change request, or work package for each user. (CR-AM-171618, CR-172341)

  • You can now specify the form to be used when configuring separate create methods for the same object class. For more information see Configure the form used on create methods. (CR-AM-171799)

  • Now, you can identify the users with the same name by their unique login name in the user information that is displayed in a chip-based interface. (CR-AM-171953)

  • Smart Administration now returns only those schema objects from SDx which are in an approved state. (CR-AM-171965)

  • The submittal and QA Review work processes have been improved to better handle the rejected and historical revisions. When the Grouped Review flag is enabled, the historical revisions of documents cannot be loaded using a submittal. Historical revisions can still be loaded using the loader workflow. For more information, see Deliverable submittal.(CR-AM-172698)

  • Now, HxGN SDx customers can view tags in 2D drawing files from a Smart Interop Objects (SIO) or a Project As-Built (PAB) database using the View Item in Drawing method. These tags are hotspotted in the related 2D drawing files. (CR-AM-173026)

  • You can now use the Web Client to customize the PDF generation settings using the feature Create Rendition Options. For more information, see PDF generation with custom rendition options. (CR-AM-170575, CR-AM-170614)
