A temporary change request is used to manage a change that has an expiration date.
The change request is created and progresses through a workflow where the change is
carried out.
When the expiration date is approaching, the request is sent into another workflow
where the change is either reverted back to its original state or extended until a
later date.
As a plant owner, you might need to establish ways to detect and document both temporary
and permanent changes. This new feature supports the documentation of temporary changes.
SDx Operations now provides the enforcement of setting an expiration date for each
temporary change. Therefore, temporary changes can be established and monitored, and
they won't become permanent.
The management of change procedures are used to ensure that the equipment and procedures
are returned to their original or designed conditions at the end of the temporary
change.
A scheduler checks the the expiration date of each temporary changes and triggers
a review and approval workflow if the expiration date is due to ensure each temporary
is being reviewed. Proper documentation and review of these changes are invaluable
in ensuring that safety and health considerations are incorporated into operating
procedures and processes.
