Connect Raceways detects and repairs disconnections in raceway networks. This ensures complete network continuity before cable routing.

  1. Select Tools > Utilities > Connect Raceways to open the Connect Raceways Dialog.

  2. Under Raceway Selection, select the raceways to repair. You can also select the raceways before starting the Connect Raceways command.

The Runs To Be Processed property displays the number of selected raceways.

  3. In the Options select one or more of the following:

    • Join Disconnected Ports

    • Connect Colinear Ends

    • Connect Non-Colinear Ends

  4. Specify the Range Box Size. For example, if the Range Box Size is 1000 mm, Smart 3D repairs all the open ports within 1000 mm of the selected raceway.

  5. Select the specification for the colinear or non-colinear ends from the Auto Connect Specification list.

The Range Box Size and Auto Connect Specification properties are only available when you select Connect Colinear Ends or Connect Non-Colinear Ends.

  6. Click Run.

  7. (Optional) If you selected the Connect Non-Colinear Ends option, the Non-Colinear Ports To Be Connected dialog displays. Select the raceways in the From Run_Port and To Run_Port columns to make the connections. Only connections between same signal type are compatible. Review the connections individually in the preview and select Connect to complete the connections.
