You can set a control point to indicate the elevation of the control point labeled on the drawings.

  1. Click Insert > Control Point to display the Control Point Ribbon (Placement).

  2. Select the parent object for the control point, such as a hanger.

  3. Select Elevation Callout in the Subtype list.

  4. Create a note associated with the control point. The text of the note is appended to the label before the elevation.

    1. Open the Control Point Properties Dialog Box for the control point.

    2. Click the Notes tab.

    3. Click New Note.

    4. Specify the control point properties as follows:

Select ControlPoint1 from the Key Point list.

Select Elevation Callout from the Notes at this location, listed by name list.

Select Fabrication from the Purpose of Note list.

Type EL in the Note Text box.

  5. Go to the Drawings and Reports task, and update the drawing for the structure.

The updated drawing shows a label that has the elevation value of the control point location and the note added.

You can create rules to use the control point subtypes to classify the control point for use in drawings and reports. For more information, see Control Point Subtype Sheet in the Smart 3D Reference Data Guide available from the Help > Printable Guides command in the software.
