SPO/E Core requires the document with the attached .ini files to be related to one or more nodes of the document classification tree. This allows multiple graphical navigation rule sets to be applied to various document classes in the tree. When the document is associated with a document class, a special relationship containing “INI” in its name is created. When the Convert Documents for Navigation command is run, SPO/E Core starts with the document class of the focused document and searches up the classification tree for the special relationship. If the relationship is found before reaching the tree top, the two attached .ini files are copied to the SmartConverter folder of the SmartPlant Foundation installation, and the normal SmartPlant Foundation graphical navigation operation starts. If the tree top is reached without finding this relationship, an error is generated. To resolve this error, you need to associate the document with the .ini files to one or more nodes of the document classification tree.

When the graphical navigation operation starts, the scheduler examines the document class node, all its sub-nodes, and all the documents under those nodes for hotspotting. It then adds all the documents that qualify into the SmartConverter Scheduler queue. Depending on the queue settings, these documents are hotspotted immediately or on a delayed schedule.

Tags are associated to drawings, and drawings are associated to documents. On successful completion of the graphical navigation operation, a relationship is created between the tag and the corresponding document for those tags that exist in SmartPlant Foundation. The tags are hotspotted. You can click on the tags to view their properties.
