Check in the CMF file

After you modify the alternate PBS structure, check the CMF file back into SmartPlant Foundation. This operation currently compresses the file and checks the compressed file into the database.

Prepare the CMF data to be loaded into SmartPlant Foundation

  1. Right-click the CMF document, and click Launch CMF File Manager (XML).

  2. Select the CMF file from the Input file list.

  3. Verify that the latest configuration is selected in the CMF list under Available configurations.

  4. Click Export to create an XML file with the schema information for the selected configuration. This creates a SCHEMA_EFSchema-Gen.xml file. By default, this file is created in My Documents folder for the current user.

Load the CMF data changes into the Data Warehouse database

  1. Click Administration > Schema Import Wizard.

  2. In the Schema Import Wizard, select Compare content of selected file against all database items with a matching container ID.

  3. Under Select external schema file, browse to select the SCHEMA_EFSchema-Gen.xml file in the directory where the software created it in the previous procedure Prepare the CMF data to be loaded into SmartPlant Foundation.

  4. Click Next. The Schema Import Wizard compared the generated schema with the SmartPlant Foundation database, and displays the results. This process can take several minutes.

  5. Under Comparison Results, click Select All, and click Next.

If the items were all successfully loaded, the status in the Load State column is set to Loaded. If not, the status is either Passed or Failed.
