  1. Create a backup of the original ItemTag.dll located at [installation directory]\SmartPlant\P&ID Workstation\bin.

  2. Navigate to Smart Community for sample ELF of ItemTag.dll file. For more information, see Find sample data on Smart Community.

  3. Copy the new ItemTag.dll at [installation directory]\SmartPlant\P&ID Workstation\bin folder.

  4. Open a command prompt and type:

    regsvr32 "[installation location]\SmartPlant\P&ID Workstation\bin\ItemTag.dll"

  5. Create a backup of the original ItemTagFormat.xml located in the SmartPlant PID Reference Data folder (..\[P&ID reference data folder]\SmartPlant Resources).

  6. Navigate to Smart Community for sample ELF of ItemTagFormat.xml file. For more information, see Find sample data on Smart Community.

  7. Copy the new ItemTagFormat.xml to the SmartPlant PID Reference Data folder.

  8. Open the file and update your plant name:

    <ItemTagConfiguration ActiveProjectName="Plant Name">

  9. Save the file.

    To use System-Type-SeqNumber ENS, copy and rename the ItemTagFormat - System.xml.
