  • When installing, ensure that you have Administrator user rights.

  • After installation, you need to perform configuration of your product, which includes registration on an authentication server. For details, see Configuring Smart P&ID Web API.

  1. Begin the installation by downloading or navigating to the folder with the setup file.

  2. Double-click the file: PIDWebApi_Setup.exe.

  3. On the Welcome page, click Start Setup.

    • If Smart P&ID Web API 3.0.0 has already been installed, the Software Detected page will appear. To proceed with the installation, select Upgrade and click Continue.

    • From Smart P&ID Web API 3.0.1, if you are working with LiveView, the installation package includes the HxGN Visualization Data Service (VDS) setup. To install it, click the Additional Software link and in the screen that opens, click the link to the VDS setup. For more information, see HxGN LiveView Installation and Setup.

  4. On the Details and Features page, enter the following:

    1. Your user name and company details.

You may enter any values that you want for the user name and company name; however, you may not leave these fields blank.

    2. The product serial number.

From Smart P&ID Web API 3.0.2, the option to configure IIS automatically with the installation has been removed. Instead, the software checks for missing IIS features during product configuration (for details, see Configuring Smart P&ID Web API).

  5. To enable integration with Aspen Basic Engineering™ (ABE), under Select Features to Install, select the ABE Integration check box.

SPID Web Install - ABE Integration

Selecting ABE Integration includes installation of the Xalt Integration Engine. If the Xalt Integration Engine is already installed on your machine, it is not recommended that you install the ABE Integration feature because doing so will replace the Xalt Integration Engine installation and remove the client.

  6. In the Install Path field, the default installation path is displayed. To select a different location, click the ellipsis button.

If the ABE Integration option is selected, the ABE software files and folders are installed under the folder path: C:\ProgramData\Hexagon\EdgeFrontier\Engine\.

  7. Click Next.

  8. On the License Agreement page, select your country or region from the list to view the license agreement in your language, and then select the I agree to the license agreement and conditions check box.

  9. Click Install.

  10. On the Installing page, a progress bar displays the installation process and a list of installed software components.

  11. On the Product Installation Completed page, click Finish.
