  1. On the Smart API Manager Login page, do the following:

    1. In the API Manager Url box, type the Url for the Smart API Manager server you will use for authentication.

If you performed the SAM configuration using the Configuration Utility, the Url value you entered for that configuration appears in this field.

    2. Enter the User Name and Password credentials you use to log in to SAM.

      • Your login credentials must first be registered on SAM.

      • Click the 'eye' icon to display the password.

    3. To verify that your login credentials are valid, click Test Connection.

The Next button is enabled and you will see an appropriate message in the message bar at the top of the dialog box.

  2. Click Next.

  3. On the SAM Group Selection page, create a new group or select an existing group to associate with the Smart API instance.

The groups in the list come from all the groups that exist on the SAM server.

  4. Enter the name of your domain.

  5. Click Next.

  6. On the SAM User Selection page, create a new user or select an existing user for impersonation by the Smart Client.

The UserName value must match the user name of a SEM user with a role having Full Control access rights for the Smart P&ID plant.

  7. Click Next.

  8. On the Integration Settings page, do the following:

    1. Click Pull from ABE to activate the ABE integration functionality. You can activate this setting later if you don't want to do it right away.

    2. Set the value of Pull Interval. This is the value in minutes for which the system will wait between sending requests to ABE to pull new data changes. A larger value will reduce the load on the system. A smaller value will result in Xalt checking for changes more frequently but in any case, a new session will not start until an existing session has completed. The default value is 720 min (12 h).

The minimum recommended value for Pull Interval is 60 min.

    3. Under the Smart Client section, enter a value in the Name field.

    4. Beside the Id field, click Generate to create a unique value of the client Id with the proper formatting.

    5. In the Secret field, type a value for the client secret or click Generate to create a secret automatically.

If you type a value for the secret manually and a red box appears around the field, hover the mouse over the top right corner of the box to display a tool tip that explains the valid syntax for the client secret.

The following screen shot shows sample values for the parameters on this page:

  9. Click Next.

  10. On the Configuration Preview page, review your settings.

  11. When you are satisfied that all the parameter values are correct, click Apply to begin the configuration procedure.

On successful completion of the configuration, an appropriate message appears in the message bar.

  12. Click Finish to close the SPID-ABE Configuration Module.

  13. Click the Close box to exit the Configuration Utility.

After completing the full configuration, you must configure the XaltIntegration service for the first time as described in the topic Configure the Xalt Integration service.
