Update 8

  • The Translate using MicroStation (if available) setting has been added to the MicroStation options to provide a new way to translate MicroStation source files if you have MicroStation installed on your system. This option is enabled by default. Turn off the option if you do not want to use MicroStation software to translate V8 DGN files without proxies.

  • Smart Interop Publisher now supports Intergraph Smart Licensing 14.02.05.0241.

Update 7

  • Previously, there was a problem with non-English characters and UID generation. The resolution now enables Smart Interop Publisher to correctly generate UIDs for non-English datasets. However, these corrected UIDs might be different from UIDs of previously generated Smart Models. With this update, you can create new projects or update older projects with Smart Models generated from English-based datasets. However, you must avoid updating previous Smart Models containing non-English datasets because the changed UIDs could impact any downstream applications that are used. For example, object UIDs that are modified can impact work packages created in Smart Construction.

  • You can now change relations to override the default object relations in SPIOPToolMap using the Process criteria option. This allows you to meet object mapping requirements for downstream applications such as Smart Construction. Use the Process criteria flag to override the default relation in SPIOPToolMap by adding OverrideRel=[required relation name]. See Edit publish mapping for SmartPlant Foundation.

  • The supported Autodesk Navisworks Manage and Autodesk Navisworks Simulate versions have been updated. See Supported model source formats and requirements.

  • Smart Interop Publisher supports Intergraph Smart Licensing Client version 14.02.04.0098.

Update 6

  • The new Generate system breakdown structure option in the Common translation settings creates a system breakdown structure using the SystemPath property value in the source file. This option does not apply to PDS, Smart 3D, SPRDirect, PDMS, IFC, and Isogen source files. See Common options.

  • Smart Interop Publisher supports Intergraph SmartĀ® Licensing Client version 14.02.03.0207.

  • The new Prefix TagSet info to properties translation option in MicroStation options enables you to turn on or off a TagSet prefix to element properties from a .dgn file during translation. By default, this option is enabled. Turn off the prefix to support custom and generic mapping so that each object does not have a different set of properties.

Update 5

  • Smart Interop Publisher can now translate specific MicroStation .dgn files without requiring MicroStation software to be installed on the system performing the translation. See Supported 3D model formats.

  • Smart Interop Publisher can now translate JT (Jupiter Tessellation) .jt files. See Supported 3D model formats.

Update 4

  • A new option specific to translating models to portal (.bin) data has been added in Common options. The Compress Portal Data option compresses the translated data to reduce the model load time when viewed in your Hexagon application's Graphic View Control (GVC) ver. 13 or later. Hexagon applications containing the GVC include SmartPlant Foundation (SPF), Smart Construction (SPC), and HxGN SDx2.

  • Smart Interop Publisher has been updated to support Inventor 2023 source files.

  • The supported versions of the target applications have been updated. See Smart Interop Publisher System Requirements.

Update 3

  • Updated the supported versions for the MCAD readers.

  • Smart Interop Publisher supports translation of the IFCCOMPOSITEPROFILEDEF entity in the IFC reader.

Update 2

Update 1

  • Smart Interop Publisher provides the new Spool Tag Identifier translation option for Alias Isogen source files. Enter a property tag to create the corresponding spool in the translated Smart Model. The spool objects, properties, and relationships can be published to SmartPlant Foundation and then retrieved by the Smart Construction application for work package management. See Alias Isogen options.

  • You can configure a remote site database in cases where the SQL Server Browser service is disabled on the system. Enter the port number in addition to the server name to connect and configure. See Configure a site database.

  • Smart Interop Publisher now supports the translation of source files from Navisworks Simulate 2022 Update 2. See Supported 3D Model Formats.

  • For PDMS translation, Smart Interop Publisher can now create the relationship across the model boundary for piping, equipment, and structural elements if the related source files are combined for translation to a single Smart Model. Smart Interop Publisher processes all the required data in the selected files to generate relationship in the results .mdb2 database file. See Translate PDMS source files.

Version 17

  • Smart Interop Publisher now detects and alerts you if an empty document is going to be published to SmartPlant Foundation. This can prevent possible data loss if you have earlier versions in the SmartPlant Foundation server.

  • Added these new PDMS translation options:

    • Read only attribute files that match the RVM filename processes and translates only the .att/.datal files in the source folder location that have the same prefix as the corresonding .rvm file. This option works in conjunction with the Read all attribute files translation setting. This additional filtering option provides a more focused, efficient PDMS translation.

    • Use Purpose property to determine discipline reads the Zone Purpose property in the .att/.datal files to determine an object's engineering discipline (Piping/HVAC/Cabletray/Conduit) under that zone. This option alleviates having to manually enter discipline specifications.

See PDMS options and Translate PDMS source files.

  • A CardinalPoint named mapping has been added to the CodeListValues sheet in the default and custom PDMS mapping files to support cardinal point data for PDMS and E3D structures. Structural model data from PDMS or E3D requires cardinal point information. For example, cardinal point information is required to specify alignment of the shape of a steel profile in an As-Built Change Management model. See Map Cardinal Point for Structures.

  • A new option has been added to support the translation of DataTools properties in Navisworks source files. See Navisworks options and Translate source files exported from Navisworks.

  • Smart Interop Publisher now supports AutoCAD version 2020 .dwg files that do not contain proxy objects.
