Before starting the Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service, ensure that you have completed the following tasks:
-
Run the Integrity Command and the Clean Database Command on the handover model. See Check database integrity and Run the Clean Database command.
-
All missing parent relationships are resolved. Before you can successfully share handover data with SDx or use that data for modeling or for creating deliverables, you must establish valid parent/child relationships for any orphan objects or for any objects and pipelines modeled directly under the Model root node in the System hierarchy. See Repair missing parent relationships of orphan objects.

The Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service requires the 64-Bit Services component. See Install Smart 3D Client Software in the Intergraph Smart 3D Installation Help.
The automatic transfer of data in the Smart 3D design model to SDx requires that the Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service is running in the background. You must configure this service to run as a user account that has permissions on the remote Oracle or SQL Server system.
-
Log on with Administrative privileges to the computer on which Smart 3D is installed.
-
Open the Control Panel, and then double-click Administrative Tools.
-
In the Administrative Tools window, double-click Services.
-
Right-click Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service, and then select Properties from the shortcut menu.
-
On the Log On tab, select This account, and then type the user name that has permissions on the remote Oracle or SQL Server system.
-
In the Password and Confirm password boxes, type the password for the user account, and then click Apply.
The software displays a confirmation message.
-
On the General tab, set the Startup type to Automatic (Delayed Start), and then click Apply.
-
In the Service status section, click Start, and then click OK.
-
If you have not already done so, define settings for the share service.
