The Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service runs as a separate software executable to monitor changes to the model and synchronize those changes to SDx. When you enable this service, changes such as new or modified objects are processed and updates can be made available for downstream enterprise applications.

Before you start the service, create at least one group setting using the Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service executable utility. A group setting defines options such as the database instance, Smart 3D site name, and query interval. This allows you to create multiple settings for one or more models in the same or different site databases. The service runs on a dedicated system and keeps the cache that contains the 3D object data up to date.

After the service starts, the software automatically checks new or modified objects apart from existing objects. When you create or modify an object, the software generates and updates the Model database. You can define the time interval between when the service checks for added, modified, or deleted objects. This listener service does not process drawing-specific aspects and style rules.

The Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service requires the 64-Bit Services component. See Install Smart 3D Client Software in the Intergraph Smart 3D Installation Help.
