This troubleshooting topic only applies to those installing retired SmartPlant Markup
Plus versions 2019 SP 1 or prior.
Problem
Errors occur while trying to install Blazon Enterprise.
You can view the error message in the Blazon Enterprise installation log file. The
name and location of this log file depends on how SmartPlant Markup Plus is installed.
If installing interactively, the log file name is generated by the installer (for
example, SmartPlant Markup Plus_20151016080319_0_Blazon.log) and is placed in your
%temp% folder. If installing silently, the log file name and location can be specified
using the -l or -log parameters.
Solution
If using a virtual machine, make sure you are logged on from the console only. To
check, open Task Manager and click the Users tab. The Session value should display Console. If using a physical machine, make sure you are not using Remote Desktop, Virtual
Network Computing (VNC), or any other connection method.

Click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services and verify:

Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service Status is Started

Print Spooler Startup Type is not Disabled

Turn off Windows Firewall.

Turn off any virus scanning software.

Restart your computer.

Try to install SmartPlant Markup Plus Server again.
