  • When installing, ensure that you have Administrator user rights.

  • After installation, you need to perform configuration of your product, which includes registration on an authentication server. For details, see Configuring Smart Electrical Web API.

  1. Begin the installation by downloading or navigating to the folder with the setup file.

  2. Double-click the file: ELWebApi_Setup.exe.

  3. On the Welcome page, click Start Setup.

From Smart Electrical Web API 2.1.3, if you are working with LiveView, the installation package includes the HxGN Visualization Data Service (VDS) setup. To install it, click the Additional Software link and in the screen that opens, click the link to the VDS setup. For more information, see Install and Configure VDS.

  4. On the Details and Features page, enter the following:

    1. Your user name and company details.

You may enter any values that you want for the user name and company name; however, you may not leave these fields blank.

    2. The product serial number.

From Smart Electrical Web API 2.1.4, the option to configure IIS automatically with the installation has been removed. Instead, the software checks for missing IIS features during product configuration (for details, see Configuring Smart Electrical Web API).

  5. Under Select Features to Install, in the Install Path field, the default installation path is displayed. To select a different location, click the ellipsis button.

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the License Agreement page, select your country or region from the list to view the license agreement in your language, and then select the I agree to the license agreement and conditions check box.

  8. Click Install.

  9. On the Installing page, a progress bar displays the installation process and a list of installed software components.

  10. On the Product Installation Completed page, click Finish.
