Previously, tool-published documents were revised during the publish operation. Now, an option is provided for tools either to use SmartPlant Foundation revisioning schemes or to supply revision numbers. The tool-supplied revision numbers are unmanaged and do not follow a scheme.
For the tools that use SmartPlant Foundation revisioning schemes, the document revisioning happens in the publish operation only. A requirement has been raised to decouple revisioning from publish operation. In other words, tool users should be allowed to revise documents without publish.
The above requirements required new functionality in integrated software to allow tools to use SmartPlant Foundation managed revisioning schemes and be able to revise documents between publishes.
