Version 2019 (7.0)

  • The View > Generation Logs command enables you to review isometric drawing extraction data. The software also supports packaging isometric drawing extraction data and submitting it to Intergraph for analysis and troubleshooting purposes. See Extraction Data. (P2 AL:7416)

  • The software now supports a new type of project called IsogenDB. The IsogenDB project is integrated with an Isogen database. When connected to an IsogenDB project, you can view details about the project pipelines as they are processed through the software. Unlike working with a standard Smart Isometrics project, an IsogenDB project supports version control and check in and check out of files. See Working with IsogenDB Projects. (P2 AL:10348)

  • The Get External Data (GED) function supports the setting of attributes at the POD level. For more information, see Example 2 under Best Practices in EXTERNAL-MAP statement. (P2 AL:13513)

  • The Drawings Generated dialog has been enhanced to emphasize the creation of all deliverables (drawings and reports) during isometric generation:

    • The dialog has been renamed as the Deliverables Generated dialog .

    • On successful completion of isometric generation, the Deliverables Generated dialog displays a list of each drawing and each report created by Isogen. In earlier versions of the software, the dialog box only listed the generated drawings.

    • The dialog organizes the display of deliverables by type: Drawing or Report.

    • You can open and review each deliverable using the default viewer for the file type.

See Deliverables Generated Dialog. (P2 AL:17274)

  • You can now turn on or off the automatic tiling of open windows when the 3D View is active. See Preferences Tab (Options Dialog). (P2 AL:15696)

  • Added information about the following GED enhancements: (P3 AL:13380)

  • The new Icon Size setting enables you to vary the size of the toolbar icons that display in the software. See Preferences Tab (Options Dialog). (P3 AL:15423)

  • A new project default, Save POD with external data (Batch generate), has been added. This setting controls whether the software saves Get External Data process changes made to the piping object data (POD) file during batch drawing generation. See Project Defaults in Getting Started with Smart Isometrics. (P3 AL:16694)

  • You can now review extraction data using Generation Logs on the drawing generation success dialog and failure message box. See Generate an isometric drawing and Deliverables Generated Dialog. (P3 AL:17611)

  • Added a Best Practices workflow for retrieving coordinate data using GED. See Configure the GED function to retrieve weld coordinates.

  • Updated and added information related to transferring pipeline data between Smart Isometrics and 3D plant design software. See Import and Export Piping Data .

  • The SmartPlant License Checkout Utility supports checking out Smart Isometrics licenses for 90 days. See License Checkout Utility Dialog Box.

  • Added information about the short description code that the software outputs when you place an information item on the pipeline. See Information item in Add Design Elements.

  • Clarified the parameters specific to Smart Isometrics for publishing piping data to SmartPlant Foundation. See Publish Command.

  • Added information about using the Isogen web service to create Power BI reports. See Appendix: Isogen Web Service and Power BI Reports.

  • All command, dialog, and toolbar Help topics are now available in a new Command Reference section.
