Places a tap on components in the model. A tap is used to drain, vent, or attach an instrument to a piping component. You can place taps on all piping components; elbows, tees, caps, valves, pipes, pipe bends, and so forth; except for mating parts.
-
You cannot modify Permission Group (PG) or Approval State (AS) for a tap.
-
A tap inherits the PG and AS from its parent part. For example, if a turn feature has a tap inserted on it, the tap inherits the PG and AS of the turn feature. If you modify the PG or AS of the turn feature, the software automatically applies the changes to the tap.
-
You can apply the PG and AS of the pipe run to an associated tap. Use Select Nested on the right-click menu to select the pipe run and associated objects. The software updates the selected objects when you modify the pipe run PG or AS.
