Automatically dimension and place one or more chained or stacked lines offset from a selected line. This command is available on the Changes toolbar.
Draw Stacked Lines

To draw the first line, click Line/Arc Continuous on the Draw toolbar and click the first line point. Then click the end point, and right-click to end line drawing.

Click Change to open the Change toolbar, and then select Place Offset and Dimension under Offset.

Select a point on the line to start the offset location. By default, the offset placement mode is set to Stacked.

Type the offset value in Step distance to place the line and insert the driving dimension. To place the line below the selected line, type a negative value.

Repeat step 3 to continue placing lines and corresponding dimensions in a stacked alignment. The offset value for subsequent lines in a stack represents the distance from the first, originating line.

To edit the dimension and change the corresponding line placement, select the dimension and type a new Step distance value.
Draw Chained Lines

To draw the first line, click Line/Arc Continuous on the Draw toolbar and click the first line point. Then click the end point, and right-click to end line drawing.

Click Change to open the Change toolbar, and then select Place Offset and Dimension under Offset.

Click the Dimension mode toggle to Chained on the Dimension Offset ribbon .

Select a point on the line, and then type the offset value in Step distance to place the next line. Type a negative value in the line chain to place the next line below the selected line.

Repeat step 3 to continue placing lines and corresponding driving dimensions in a chain. The offset value for each subsequent line is the distance from the last-placed line in the chain.

To edit the dimension and change the corresponding line placement, select the dimension and type a new Step distance value.
