  1. On the toolbar, select Measure Distance Measure Distance.

  2. Select in free space or select a key point. This identifies the point to measure from.

  3. Select a point to measure to. The distance between the two points appears next to the pointer.

  4. Select another point to measure to. The distance between the last two points and the distance between the first point and the last point appear next to the pointer.

  • When you move the pointer over a key point, the distance between the current location of the pointer and the last point you selected appears, along with the delta values. The delta values are the distances, as measured along the X and Y axes.

  • When you select a third point, the cumulative distance between the first and last point that you selected appears next to the pointer.

  • When you are in the middle of a task, you can use Measure Distance at any time.

  • You can press TAB to move between the distance and total distance. You can also press CTRL + C to copy the value to the Clipboard. You can then press CTRL + V to paste the value to a text box or ribbon field.
