In Smart Interop Publisher, you will create a project to contain PDMS files and the generated Smart Model, and then translate.

Create a Smart Interop Publisher Project

  1. Open the Smart Interop Publisher application. If you do not already have a project, create one with a defined shared content folder.

  2. From the Smart Interop Publisher Projects view, right-click your project and select Settings > Translation.

  3. Click New in the Select or Create Settings Group list.

  4. Type PDMSGroup as the name of your translation settings group.

  5. Go to the PDMS Options translation settings and select any options you might need for the translation. If you have multiple .att files associated with the source PDMS file, select the Read all attributes option. See PDMS options in the Smart Interop Publisher Help.

  6. Save your edits.

Translate

  1. From the Smart Interop Publisher Source Files grid in the Smart Models view, add the .rvm file. Make sure that the .rvm and .att files reside in the same source location. An example stabilizer.rvm has been added as shown below.

  2. Select the .rvm file, and right-click to select Translate.

  3. On the Translate dialog, enter a Smart Model name and location. For this exercise, we will use stabilizer_Custom.

  4. Select the Custom mapping option and specify the location of your custom mapping file.

  5. Select the PDMSGroup as your Settings Group.

  6. Click Translate. Make sure the translation completes successfully in the Smart Models grid.
