The Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service runs as a separate software executable to monitor changes to a selected Smart 3D model and synchronize those changes to SDx. When you enable this service, changes such as new, custom objects imported from data sources such as PDS are processed and updates are made available for downstream enterprise applications.

Before you start the service, create at least one group setting using the Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service executable utility. A group setting defines options such as the database instance, Smart 3D site name, and query interval. This allows you to create multiple settings for one or more models in the same or different site databases.

After the service starts, the software automatically checks new or modified objects apart from existing objects. This listener service does not process drawing-specific aspects and style rules.

The Intergraph Smart 3D Share Service requires the 64-Bit Services component. See Install Smart 3D Client Software in the Intergraph Smart 3D Installation Help.

To set up the Share Service:

  1. Define Share Service Settings

  2. Start the Share Service and Synchronize

  3. Monitor SDx Synchronization and Create a Report
