You must map custom properties, interfaces, and classes to the SDx Common schema using the HxGN SDx Web Client and Smart Engineering Manager (Schema Module) applications. This involves creating a change request, relating the custom properties to the new change request, and then regenerating the common schema in SDx.
The charts below show the processes the software tools perform when you create a change request to extend or add custom properties, interfaces and classes to extend the Common SDx schema and update the Smart 3D tool schema.

Create a Change Request

Launch the SDx Web Client and sign in using the appropriate credentials defined in your Authorization Server (SAM/OKTA).

Click the Data Model Administration feature set.

Click Create Common Schema Change Request.

Add the details for the change request, and then click Finish.
Prepare Your Change Request

In your To Do List, select Common Schema Change Request.

Click the Prepare Common Schema CR workflow step, and then select Actions
> Prepare Common Schema Change Request.

Click options
, and then click Manage Related Information.

In Relationship Builder > Pins > New Items, select the schema objects required for the change request, and then click Relate.
For example, relate the enum list types, enums, interface definitions, and property definitions.

In Prepare Schema Change Request, click Complete.
Regenerate the Common Schema
Regenerate the common schema to ensure that an updated version of the common schema is used when authoring tools share or synchronize.

Click Home
on the sidebar to return to the home page.

Click the Data Model Administration feature set.

Select Common Schema Change Requests to list all change request items in SDx.

Review all the schema objects related to the change request.

From the Actions
menu, click Regenerate Common Schema.

When you receive the prompt, click Yes to regenerate the schema.
