For the software to know how to handle graphics in the symbol file, you create unique groups that define the different geometry contours of the slot.
-
Select the base plane curve, and click Group on the Change toolbar.
-
Do not select the offset curve used as part of the slot contour.
-
Even though the base plane curve is a single line, it must be grouped to be selected as an input to the slot. See Define Slot Inputs.
-
-
Shift-click to select the lines and arcs that define the contour of the slot. Do not select points, construction lines, dimensions, or constraints.
-
Click Group on the Change toolbar.
The group must contain only geometric elements. Be sure that no relationship handles are part of the group. Do not include end-point to end-point connection handles in the group.
-
Activate all layers on which the slot geometry resides. The possible layers are Default, CrossSectionPlane, and BasePlane. Click Layer Status to activate and deactivate layers.
-
You should not use fence select when you create a group to avoid selecting unwanted elements.
-
-
Shift-click to select the lines, arcs, and dimensions on the ProfileSketch layer.
Do not select relationship handles.
-
Click Group on the Change toolbar.
Activate only the ProfileSketch layer to make selecting easier. Click Layer Status to activate and deactivate layers.
