Before beginning, we recommend that you create a backup of your existing Isogen Web API database.

Although the Isogen Web API and the Spoolgen Web API can coexist on the same server, not all client versions of Spoolgen and Smart Isometrics support both Web APIs. For example, only the 2019 versions of Intergraph Spoolgen (9.0 and 9.2) and Intergraph Smart Isometrics (7.0 and 7.2) support the Isogen Web API, whereas the Spoolgen Web API is only supported by Intergraph Spoolgen 10 and Intergraph Smart Isometrics 8.

Spoolgen and Smart Isometrics client versions 2019, 10, and 8 can also coexist on the same machine in a side-by-side configuration. To set up a side-by-side configuration, copy the C:\Program Files (x86)\Intergraph Smart\Spoolgen folder (2019 version) to another location before installing Intergraph Spoolgen 10. You can then launch either version using [Spoolgen Installation Folder]\Spoolgen\Intergraph Spoolgen.exe or [Spoolgen Installation Folder]\Spoolgen\Intergraph Smart Isometrics.exe

  1. Browse to the [Spoolgen Web API Install Folder]\Configuration folder, and double-click the Intergraph.Spoolgen.WebApi.ConfigurationTool.exe file to open the Spoolgen Web API Configuration Tool.

  2. Click Next on the Welcome page.

  3. On the Service Database Configuration page, use the SQL Server Name and Database Name boxes to specify the SQL Server URL and to verify that the the name of the database is Spoolgen.

  4. Click Next to go to the API Registration page.

  5. Type the URL for the Smart API Manager server to use for authentication.

  6. Type the User Name and Password that you specified when setting up the Smart API Manager administrator account.

  7. Click Test to verify that the login credentials are valid.

  8. Click Next to go to the IIS Configuration page, and then click Next again.

  9. Click Finish to apply all settings and begin the configuration. A page displays showing the status or each activity and an overall progress bar.

  10. After applying the configuration and running the health diagnostics, click Finish to exit the configuration utility.

  11. Open the required version of Intergraph Spoolgen and test.
