Create links between tasks which control the sequence of the events in the schedule. Follow the procedure below to link the tasks using various dependencies.

A predecessor task can have multiple successor tasks and vice-versa.

You can link the tasks using the below listed dependencies:

  • Finish to Start (Default) - The successor task begins only when the predecessor task ends. The end node of the predecessor task is connected to the front node of the successor task.

  • Start to Start - The successor task cannot begin before the predecessor task begins. The start node of the predecessor task is connected to the start node of the successor task.

  • Finish to Finish - The successor task cannot end before the predecessor task ends. The end node of the predecessor task is connected to the end node of the successor task.

  • Start to Finish - The successor task cannot end before the predecessor task begins. The start node of the predecessor is connected to the end node of the successor.

Follow the procedure below to connect two tasks.

  1. Navigate to Projects > Project Schedule.

  2. At the top of the screen, in the green parameter bar, click the Project and Calendar ellipsis to select the required project and calendar.

The administrator defines calendars which include the time-zone, start time, duration, working days, and non-working days.

  3. Click Refresh for screen update. The existing tasks appear on the gantt chart.

  4. Place the cursor on the start or end (depending on the link type) of the predecessor task and select the round indicator.

  5. Drag the cursor until the round indicator appears and drop the cursor on the start or end (depending on the link type) of the successor task. A link appears between the predecessor task and the successor task.
