Selection of Pipe Attachment Parts

This sheet is used to retrieve the pipe attachment type when NPD, Spec Name, Pipe Material and Support Location are provided.

You must change the contents in the hsMrnSrv_PAttachType sheet in HS_Marine_Assy.xls to work with the User Pipe Specs. The details are as follows:

  • NomDiaFrom, NomDiaTo, and NomDiaUnitType columns allow you to specify the range of the NPDs.

The Pipe Attachment Part should exist in the HS_Marine.xls for the NPD specified here.

  • SpecName column refers to the Piping Specification Name.

  • PipeMaterial column refers to the material of the pipe. When a pipe is selected in the model to place this assembly, the software reads the material from the selected pipe. The value for this columns is a codelist number of the material type as defined in the MaterialsType sheet in the AllCodeLists.xls delivered with the product. When more than one pipe is selected to place the support, the software always gets the material from the first pipe selected.

For example, the value 110 refers to CS in the MaterialsType sheet in the AllCodeLists.xls

  • SupLocation column refers to the Design Area number in which this support is being placed. The Design Area number means the Unit Code value on the parent Unit System. When pipe is picked to place this assembly, the software reads the parent (that is, Piping System) of the selected pipe. After it gets the Piping System, the software traverses through the System hierarchy till it gets the Piping System’s parent Unit System. After it gets the Unit System, the software reads the Unit Code value defined for the Unit System.

  • PipeAttachment column refers to the type of the U-Bolt. The codelist value specified here refers to the codelist number of the HgrTSAssyUBoltType table in the hsMrnCLPAttachType sheet of HS_Marine_Assy_Codelist.xls

Adding More Steel Sections

By default the following sections are available. If you want to have some more sections to work with, add those sections to the following sheets.

Edit the hsMrnCLSecSize table in HS_Marine_Assy_Codelist.xls

The following hsMrnSrv_FrmCorresp sheet is in HS_Marine_Assy.xls. This sheet will give the Section Size when we know the Section Code. When Section from Rule is set to True, then hsMrnSrv_SecSize will give the Section Code which is used to retrieve Section Size.

  • The Size value is retrieved from the following service table - hsMrnSrv_SecSize

  • StdName refers to the steel standard used. Specify the same value in this column as specified in the hsMrnAsm_Rules sheet.

hsMrnSrv_SecSize Service Table

This sheet is used to retrieve Section code like L1, L2, and so on based on the Pipe NPD and the Section Type selected. This Query is done from AIR based on Pipes selected.

hsMrnSrv_PAttachOffset Service Table

This sheet is used to retrieve the Pipe Attachment Offset when Section size is provided.

Because the Pipe Attachment Offset dimension is based on the section size used, you must add the entries for the new sections in the hsMrnSrv_PAttachOffset sheet as shown below.

Similarly, you must add the Rectangular Pad, Triangle Pad and Round Pad dimensions in the sheets hsMrnSrv_RectPadDim, hsMrnSrv_TriangPadDim and hsMrnSrv_RndPadDim respectively.

hsMrnSrv_RectPadDim Service Table

Rectangular Pad dimensions are retrieved from this sheet based on the section size.

hsMrnSrv_TriangPadDim Service Table

Triangular Pad dimensions are retrieved from this sheet based on the section size.

hsMrnSrv_RndPadDim Service Table

Round Pad dimensions are retrieved from this sheet based on the section size.
