Monitoring Analysis is used to view costs, prioritization scoring, overall health and specific KPIs for each project assigned to the selected portfolio. Charts display overall status in terms of strategic balance, performance against KPI’s and risk levels.

Follow the procedure below to view the portfolio monitoring summary.

  1. Navigate to Portfolios > Monitoring Analysis.

  2. At the top of the screen, in the green parameter bar, click the Portfolio ellipsis to select the required portfolio.

  3. At the top of the screen, in the green parameter bar, click the Portfolio Period ellipsis to select required portfolio period.

  4. Click Refresh for screen update. All the projects of the selected portfolio appear, along with their cost details.

    The below listed details appear:

    • Project ID: Displays the project ID.

    • Project Name: Displays the project name.

    • Project Status: Displays the project status.

    • Start Date: Displays the project start date.

    • End Date: Displays the project end date.

    • Estimated Cost: Displays the estimated cost of the project.

    • Budget: Displays the current budget of the project.

    • Approved to Spend: Displays the request fund amount approved for the project.

    • Actuals: Displays the project actuals.

    • Current Forecast: Displays the current forecast of the project.

    • Allocated: Displays the fund amount allocated to the project.

    • Unapproved: Displays the rejected fund amount.

    • Growth: Displays the growth potential of the project.

    • Cost Efficiency: Displays the cost efficiency potential of the project.

    • Innovation: Displays the innovation potential of the project.

    • Risk Level: Displays the risk potential of the project.

    • Resource Impact: Displays the resource impact potential of the project.

    • Cost/Benefit: Displays the cost or benefit potential of the project.

    • Project Health Status: Displays the project health status.

    • Risk Status: Displays the risk status.

    • NPV: Displays the net present value.

    • IRR: Displays the internal rate of return value.

    • To compare the portfolio’s strategic alignment against the strategic alignment balance of all projects in the portfolio, view the Strategic Balance panel. In this bar chart, Planned represents the portfolio’s strategic alignment and Target represents the strategic alignment balance of all projects assigned to the portfolio.

    • To view the ratio of projects with an assigned project health status of Tracking, Not Tracking, or At Risk in a pie chart format, view the Portfolio Performance chart.
