Sets properties that define isometric drawing objects, such as components, enclosures, and detail sketches.

  • Available style groups depend on the type of isometric drawing style that is currently active. For example, the Piping Components and Piping Features style groups are available only for piping isometric drawings. Likewise, the cable tray and HVAC style groups (Cable Tray Components, Cable Tray Features, Duct Components, and Duct Features) are available only when a Smart 3D CableTray isometric drawing style or a Smart 3D HVAC isometric drawing style is active (for example, Iso_CableTray or Iso_HVAC).

  • If you are using ISOGEN Configuration with the current version of Smart 3D, cable tray and HVAC isometric drawing options are limited to beta access. As such, drawing options specific to cable tray and HVAC isometrics are not visible in ISOGEN Configuration by default. To turn on cable tray and HVAC options so that you have access to the full array of drawing settings when configuring Smart 3D isometric drawings, please contact PPM Smart Community.

The Drawing Area category includes the style groups listed below.

  • Cable Tray / Duct / Piping Components organizes options groups that control the output and format of cable tray, duct, pipe, and other isometric drawing objects, including supports, flanges, elbows, and so forth. For more information, see Cable Tray / Duct / Piping Components.

  • Cable Tray / Duct / Piping Features organizes options groups that define cable tray, duct, and piping features, such as branches, assemblies, nozzles, and taps. For more information, see Cable Tray / Duct / Piping Features.

  • Enclosures organizes options groups that control the output and format of enclosures for drawing objects. For more information, see Enclosures.

  • Graphics organizes options groups that define how to represent pipeline components on the isometric drawing. Properties are also available that define the layer names and the colors assigned to layer numbers. For more information, see Graphics.

  • Content organizes options groups that control what is shown on the isometric drawing, such as the north arrow, continuation messages, and insulation indicators. For more information, see Content.

  • Detail Sketches organizes options groups that define the characteristics of detail sketches on the isometric drawing. Properties are also available for local details sketches and information notes. For more information, see Detail Sketches.

  • Revision Clouds organizes options groups that control the output of revision changes on the isometric drawing. For more information see Revision Clouds.

  • Text organizes options groups that control all aspects of the fonts that appear on the isometric drawing. For more information, see Text.
