For information on upgrading to the current SmartPlant Foundation version, see Upgrading SmartPlant Foundation.

Several products have been consolidated into SmartPlant Foundation version 10.0, such as SmartPlant Fusion, SmartPlant Master Tag Registry, SmartPlant Enterprise for Owner Operators, and Smart Data Validator. There are additional upgrade tasks required to continue these products in the current version of SmartPlant Foundation. For more information, see Upgrading products that have merged with SmartPlant Foundation.

  • If you were using the GetWorkflowStepsForUserAtStatus method definition before the upgrade, you will have to modify any custom code to use the GetToDoList method definition. The GetWorkflowStepsForUserAtStatus method definition is deprecated from SmartPlant Foundation 2016 (6.1) and was replaced with the GetToDoList method definition implemented to take full advantage of the new DAL that was developed to improve performance.

  • To upgrade to the current version of SmartPlant Foundation from SmartPlant Foundation 2008, 2009, or 2014, you must first upgrade to one of these more recent SmartPlant Foundation versions: 2016, 2018 or 2018 R1. After performing this intermediate upgrade, you should certify that all your work processes can be performed successfully on that version. After this intermediate upgrade is determined to be successful, you can then proceed with the final upgrade from that version to the current SmartPlant Foundation version.
