After you configure the output options and select the piping input files, the next step is to generate the model. When you generate an output model, you can specify whether the software creates a single output file or multiple output files.

Generate a single output file

  1. On the Generate Models panel, select Save as single file to save the selected piping input files to a single model file.

  2. Click Generate Model File(s).

The software opens the Save as dialog box.

  3. Specify the output file name, and then click Save.

The software begins reading the input files. After the input files are read, the software creates the model file. During processing, the software displays the status of the piping data import and generation of output in the Progress pane.

Generate multiple output files

  1. On the Generate Models panel, verify that Save as single file is not selected. For the to software save each selected piping input file to an individual model file, you must clear the checkbox.

  2. Click Generate Model File(s).

The software opens the Browse for Folder dialog box.

  3. Navigate to the folder into which the software will save the output model files, and then click OK.

The software begins reading the input files and generating the output files. During processing, the software displays the status of the piping data import and generation of output in the Progress pane.

  • After model generation completes, double-click the generated output file to view the model. For more information, see Viewing Output Models.

  • If I-View CAD encounters a problem during model generation, the software displays an error or warning message alongside the file name reference. An example of an error message is shown below. For more information about errors and warnings, see Troubleshooting.
