Before you can enable Elasticsearch for a site, you must install and configure Elasticsearch and Kibana. For details, see Configuring Elasticsearch to analyze logging data.

  1. In Server Manager, right-click your site in the tree view and click Tools > Configure Elasticsearch analytics.

  2. Enter the required configuration information in the dialog box:

    • Elastic Logging - Indicates if Elastic tracing is enabled or disabled.

    • Elastic Server URL - Specifies the URL address of the Elastic Server.

    • SQL Duration - Sets the duration, in seconds, that a SQL statement must run before tracing will be executed on that statement.

    • Error Switches - Determines the Error Information Events to be traced on the Elastic Server:

      • Login - Enables Elastic tracing for Error Information Event.

      • Core - Enables Elastic tracing for Core Information Event.

      • General - Enables Elastic tracing for General Information Event.

  3. Click OK.

  • After you enable an error switch, that switch is not available for standard server tracing. To make it available again, you must disable it in Elasticsearch.

  • Once Elasticsearch is configured, trace data will be written to the Elastic server. If there is a problem with the Elastic server, an error will be logged to the SPFServerTraceRolling.log file.
