The Trace Settings node for each site allows you to modify the level of tracing for the switches available for the services that support the site.

  1. Select the Trace Settings node under your site.

  2. Right-click the service for which you want to configure tracing levels and click Properties.

  3. In the Properties dialog box, expand Trace Switches in the tree view, if necessary, and select a level of tracing:

    • Off – Turns off tracing.

    • Error – Logs critical and error events.

    • Warning – Logs critical, error, and warning events.

    • Information – Logs critical, error, warning, and information events.

    • Verbose – Logs critical, error, warning, verbose, and information events.

    • All - Same as Verbose.

      The levels of tracing are cumulative. Selecting a higher level also enables all the levels of tracing below it.

These settings are stored in each service's tracesettings.config file.
