In Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager, in the Connection tree view, expand the Local Computer > Sites > Default Web Site nodes, and select the site or virtual directory to which you want to assign your application pool.

Right-click the site or virtual directory and click Manage Application > Advanced Settings.

In the General section, select Application Pool and click the Properties button

In the Select Application Pool dialog box, select the name of the application pool.

Repeat this procedure for each virtual directory that you want to assign to an application pool.
Permissions for users must also be set if manually assigning the software to an application
