The Select Correlations command, available in Tablet and Classic modes, automatically selects all 2D and 3D Smart 3D objects in the Main view and Document view that were correlated through Auto-Attach or the external Auto Attach Correlator utility. When you run Select Correlations from a displayed drawing file, you can see which parts of the 3D model and 2D drawing (if any) are correlated.

Follow the steps below:

  1. With your Smart 3D .vue model open, select an object with an attachment, and then open Properties.

  2. Under Attachments, click the drawing file to open.

  3. (Optional) To see correlation results, open the Text view (Window > Text) before running Select Correlations.

  4. In Classic mode, select Tools > Get External Data > Select Correlations. This command is enabled if the model is from Smart 3D and the drawing file (.sha or .pid) is correlated. For more information on attaching and correlating, see Auto-Attach Smart 3D Drawings and Auto-Attach Correlator Utility.

Press ESC at any time to cancel the process.

The software highlights all correlated objects in the drawing file and in the model as shown in the example below.

With Document and Main views open, you can select an object and see the correlated section in the 2D drawing. LIkewise, you can select a P&ID drawing pipe run object and the software automatically selects all 3D model pipe run objects in the Main view.
