Publish to the project- level is available only when using Intercompany Collaboration 2 (ICC2). For more information, see Overview of Intercompany Collaboration 2 (ICC2).

  1. Click SmartPlant > Publish.

  2. Select a plant in the Select Plant or Project dialog box.

  3. Enter the project name in the Tool projects column if it is not listed.

  4. Enter your SmartPlant Foundation user name and password, if any, if a dialog requests them.

  5. Click OK. The Select Documents dialog box appears.

  6. Select one or more documents in the list box.

    SHARED Tip If you want to select more documents to publish, Click Engineering Tool on the Publish dialog box to display the SmartPlant Test Tool Select Documents dialog box.

  7. When you select one of more documents to publish to a plant, and if any of those documents are already revised in a project, the Publish confirmation dialog box appears. Do one of the following:

    • Click Yes to continue with the publish process.

    • Click No to publish other documents that are not revised in the project.

    • Click Cancel to stop the publish process.

    • To run the SmartPlant Test Tool in non-UI mode, select the Use UI Specific to Test Tool option.

    • The tool project name must match the SmartPlant Foundation project name under the selected SmartPlant Foundation plant.

    • After a successful project level connection, the project name is listed in the Tool project name column for future use.

  8. Click OK.

  9. Select a workflow or revision scheme for each document, if needed.

    If you chose to run the SmartPlant Test Tool in non-UI mode, the Test Tool will automatically publish the documents you selected and a confirmation dialog box appears to report success or failure.

  10. Click OK on the Publish dialog box. A dialog box will display after some time to report success or failure on the publish.

  • Revision number in As-built must be different from revision number in a project.

  • When a document in updated in As-built with a revision number, you cannot use the same revision number in a project to update a document.

Scenario

If you revise a new document using the revision scheme RevAlpha (A, B, C, D…) and revision C, then SmartPlant Foundation reserves revision number C for the document. If the document is published to SmartPlant Foundation with revision number C, you are not allowed to go back to the previous revision numbers.
