The GetDocTypeHierarchy and GetDocTypeHierarchyForToolDocTypeID methods get the document type hierarchy in both UI and non-UI SP Common UI. The top level in document hierarchy is the document category, followed by the document type, and document subtype. The method returns these three levels from the SmartPlant schema.
