On the Windows Start menu, point to the PD Shell program group and click PD Shell.

In the Plant Design System Environment window, in the list box, select the PDS project to which you want to import dimensional data for piping, and click Reference Data Manager.

Click Piping Job Specification Manager.
-
Click Instrument Data.
-
Under Instrument Data, do the following:
-
In the Node Name box, type the machine name for the <SmartPlant Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.
After you type data in a PDS text box, remember to press Enter before continuing.

In the File Path box, type the path to the <SmartPlant Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

Do one of the following:
-
To append data that you exported from SmartPlant Instrumentation DDP to instrument specifications already in the project, click Load.
-
To delete any existing instrument specifications before loading, click Replace.
-
-
In the File Name box, type neutral.dat.
-
On the toolbar, click to load the instrument specifications to the reference database.
-
On the toolbar, click .
-
If your PDS project uses both unapproved and approved libraries, do the following in the main Piping Job Specification Manager window:

Click Unapprove ==> Approve.

On the toolbar, click .
-
-
In response to the warning message that spec records will be overwritten, in the message box click OK, and on the toolbar, click .

On the toolbar, click .
-
In the Reference Data Manager, click Material Description Library Manager.
-
Click Specialty Description Library.
-
Under Specialty Material Description Library, do the following:

Click Load/Revise Interactive.
-
Under Types, select Instruments.
-
On the toolbar, click .
-
Under Specialty Material Description Library, do the following to load the material descriptions:
-
In the Node Name box, type the machine name for the <SmartPlant Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

In the File Path box, type the path to the <SmartPlant Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

In the File Name box, type mto.dat.
-
On the toolbar, click .
-
If your PDS project uses both unapproved and approved libraries, do the following:

Click Unapprove ==> Approve.

On the toolbar, click .
-
-
On the toolbar, click .
-
In the Material Description Library Manager window, on the toolbar, click .

In the Reference Data Manager window, click Physical Data Library Manager.

Under Library/Data Management, do the following:

From the list to the right of the command buttons, select the practice (for example US Practice).

On the toolbar, click .
-
Do the following:

In the Node Name box, type the machine name for the <SmartPlant Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

In the File Path box, type the path to the <SmartPlant Instrumentation home folder>\DDP\Output folder.

Click Create / Interactive Data.

Do the following:

To the right of the command buttons, toggle the Single button to display List.
-
In the box to the right of List, type listfile.txt.
-

On the toolbar, click .
-
If your PDS project uses both unapproved and approved libraries, do the following:

Click Unapproved ==> Approved.

On the toolbar, click .
-

On the toolbar, click .
-
In the Physical Data Library Manager window, under Library/Data Management, on the toolbar, click .

In the Reference Data Manager window, on the toolbar, click .

In the Plant Design System Environment window, click to exit PDShell.
