A fileset is a collection of piping data files that are grouped together according to specific criteria. The software does not limit the number of piping data files that you can use as input to create a fileset. The fileset definition can contain one or more grouping criteria, allowing you to organize piping data files in filesets into hierarchies based on a combination of criteria.

You can also create the fileset definition by running a Get External Data (GED) script on each input file as it is imported into the software. When you select Run GED Script on the New dialog box, a user-specified XML file is executed on each file as it is imported and converted to the piping object data (POD) file. In this way, the data loaded into the individual POD file can be used as part of the sorting and grouping algorithm.

After saving the fileset, you can open it, edit its definition, and save it with a different name. The Edit dialog box provides options for modifying various aspects of a fileset definition. You can add and remove piping data files, either individually or as a collection of files within a folder. You can also add and delete grouping criteria.
