The list below describes the requirements for matchline labels to display successfully.

  • The volumes must be adjacent to each other.

  • The volumes must be associated to a view within the parent component node.

  • The view styles of the volumes must be that of the parent view.

  • The volumes must be associated to graphic views of the same type. Graphic view types include main views, detail views, section views, and snapshot views.

  • The volumes associated with the views must have adjoining edges or sides that overlap by at least 33%.

    In the example below, the view associated with Drawing Volume 2 will only have matchline labels for the views associated to Drawing Volume 1 and Drawing Volume 4. Drawing Volume 3 does not overlap Drawing Volume 2 by at least 33%, so no matchline label referencing the view associated with Drawing Volume 3 is placed.

  • The view direction must be along the same axis as the associated view.

  • The Up direction for the view must be along the same axis or perpendicular to the associated view's Up direction.
