Copy Naming Conventions for Plant Group - Intergraph Smart Electrical - Help - Hexagon

This procedure allows you to copy naming conventions from a selected plant group hierarchy item to another, provided that the target and source plant groups hierarchy item belong to the same plant hierarchy level. Also, you can copy naming conventions from a reference plant group (in the reference data).

1. Select Options > Naming Conventions > Copy for Plant Group.

2. Under Source, select one of the following:

   • Plant group hierarchy item to copy the naming conventions from the currently logged in plant.

   • Reference plant group to copy the naming conventions from the reference data.

3. Beside Path, select Browse and navigate to a plant group hierarchy item which will be the source for copying naming conventions.

4. Under Target, do one of the following:

   • First select the Copy to single plant group hierarchy item option to copy the selected source naming conventions to a single plant group hierarchy item which is indicated in the box below. Then, select Browse to select a target plant group hierarchy item (which will then appear in the box).

   • First select the Copy to multiple plant group hierarchy items option to copy the selected source naming conventions to multiple plant group hierarchy items which you select in the data window below. Then, in the data window, select the check boxes next to the plant group hierarchy items to which you want to copy the source naming conventions. (Not available if you selected the Reference plant group option.) Note that you can select all the target plant group hierarchy items by selecting the Select all check box below the data window,

   

   • The plant group hierarchy levels of the source pant group and the target plant group must be the same. For example, if the selected source plant group level is unit, the target plant group level must also be unit. This is true for both options in the Source group box.

   • When copying naming conventions, the software overwrites the naming conventions that exist in the target plant group item.

   • If the source plant group hierarchy item that you selected does not contain any naming conventions, the naming conventions in the target will remain unchanged.

5. Select Apply.
