Each spring type is made up of several shapes. Each shape has a property associated with it where you can specify a shape name. The name must represent a row in a corresponding shape table. The shapes available for each type are shown below.

Type A, B, and C

The type A, B, and C constants consist of the following shapes.

Figure 1 - Vertical: Casing above Frame

Figure 2 - Vertical: Casing below Frame

In addition to the shapes shown above, the type A, B, and C constants have the top shapes shown below. The type A constant has an optional nut top. The type B constant has a single lug top. The type C constant has a double lug top.

Type A Top

The type A constant allows an optional nut shape for the top.

Type B Top

The type B constant has a required lug plate shape, along with an optional pin shape.

Type C Top

The type C constant has a required lug plate shape, along with an optional pin shape.

Type C for Horizontal Case

For Type C horizontal case, you can place a single lug and a double lug for double suspension. If you specify only Lug2Shape, a single lug and a double lug are placed for double suspension. If you specify Gap2 and Offset6 values along with Lug2Shape, then two double lugs are placed for Type C double suspension.

Additional Top Connections

The type B and C constants allow for an additional top connection shape. This can be a lug, WBA, clevis, or eye nut depending on the type. The additional top shapes are specified on the StructAttachment attribute.

The type B allows the addition of a WBA or a clevis.

The type C allows the addition of a lug or an eye nut.

Figure 8 - Type C Double Lug Top with Lug or Eye Nut Additional Top Connection

If Type C has single lug in Lug2Shape for double suspension, then you can place it with WBA and Clevis.

Type D and E

The type D and E constants consist of the same general shapes as the type A, B, and C constants.

Type D

The type D constant includes optional ear plates when the spring is above the frame.

Type E

The type E constant includes optional stiffener/gusset plates when the casing is below the frame. It has an optional fourth plate when the casing is beside the frame.

Type F

The type F constant includes a second lever plate shape.

Type U

The Type U constant are used to model up-thrust constant supports.

Type G

The type G constant consists of two standard constant supports connected by a steel section. The shape properties are identical to the A, B, and C constants with the addition of a steel cross section as shown below.
