Ranges for the shipping dates of material are used to clearly display the data in the traffic tree. The wider a range is defined, the more nodes (orders, release notes, packages) you will see below a range.

Ranges are used as the levels just below the main destinations within the traffic tree.

Date ranges are defined on the PT.10.01 Date Ranges screen.

Enter the name (code) of the traffic date range in the Date Range field, with the descriptions in the Short Desc and Description fields. Select the end date of range from the LOV in the End Date field. All orders, release notes, and packages with shipping dates within the range defined by the previous range and this current range are displayed below this range.

When you click the Generate Date Ranges button, another window opens where you can define the settings for automatic generation of date ranges. This feature supports the setup of date ranges, thus saving time.

Select the start date of range from the LOV in the Start Date field and the end date in the End Date field. If a project calendar has been set up, the start date must be later than or must be exactly the start date on this calendar, and the end date must be earlier than or must be exactly the end date on this calendar.

Select the range frequency from the drop-down list in the Range Frequency field. With this option, you define what period is covered by each date range. The available options are:

  • Monthly - Results in one date range per month.

  • Weekly - Results in one date range per week.

  • Days - Results in date ranges that last n days. If you select this option, you must define the number of days in the Number of Days field.

You can enter a prefix in the Range Prefix field that is used for the creation of the date range name. This prefix is appended with a sequential number to be able to distinguish among the different date ranges. If no value is entered, the prefix 'TDR_' is used.

Finally, click the Generate button to start the generation of date ranges. The date ranges will be created, and you will return to the first window where you can see the results of this generation.
