Once the job has finished, you can review the export file with any ASCII-Editor of your choice. Please refer to the section outlining the format specification above in this manual.

When an online export job has finished, you can review the log files with the export protocol that has been created. The PLL online log will include several execution statistics, as well as a short summary of data related problems or data errors that the main export program may have encountered.

Please have a look at chapter Error Codes of the PLL documentation for analyzing the error numbers in the error log file.

PLL data export jobs can be defined, executed and controlled from screen L.30.02:

Job Information Block

The Job Information block contains the following fields:

  • Job Code: The name of the export job. It must be unique within a project.

  • Physical Path: The directory where the export file is stored.

For online import in a non-web environment, this must be a directory on your local file system, whereas for online import in a web environment, this must be a directory on your web server.

For import in JCS batch, it must be a directory on the server.

  • Physical Filename: The name of the import file.

  • User Comment: You may enter a free format comment of up 80 characters for each PLL export job.

Job Options Block

The Job Options block contains the following fields:

  • Status: Short name describing the process line status [L.10.01]. LOV available.

  • Delimiter: Choose delimiter - the separator between fields (1 or 2 characters).

  • Job Type: Propagating data values from line header to diameter. Possible values are:

  • Standard

Only column relevant to the record type (line header – diameter – branch) are filled in the export file.

  • Full

For diameter records, columns relevant to line header (Pressure, Temperature, From, To, Attributes...) are populated with relevant line header values. This option used especially for exporting lines / diameters to INTOOLS.

Data Options Block

The Data Options block contains the following fields:

  • Data blocks to be exported: The export file may contain:

    • Line header data (line data and line attributes)

AND / OR

  • Line diameter data (diameter data and diameter attributes)

  • Process Units: Export file will contains project lines relevant to one or more Process units. Possible values are:

  • Unit Set

  • Unit

  • Character String

  • All

  • Unit code or String: PLL Units for export. For Process Unit Set and Unit LOV is available.

  • Attribute Source: Which of attributes are to be exported. Possible values are:

  • Unit-Set-Defined Attributes

Attributes that will be exported are attributes that are defined at Unit Set level.

  • User-Defined Attributes

Attributes that will be exported are attributes that are defined in this screen.

  • All Attributes

Job Control Block

The Job Control block contains the following fields:

  • Start Online: Press this button to start your export job online.

  • Start Batch: Press this button to start your PLL job in JCS batch.

  • Duplicate Job: Copy this export job.

  • View Export File: This button allows you to retrieve the export file.

  • View Online Log: This button allows you to retrieve the log file from the server.

User-Defined Attribute Block

The User-Defined Attribute block contains the following fields:

  • Order by: Sorting rule for this blocks.

  • Seq: Sequential order number.

  • Group: The Group field is of type Code, which means this is a 10-character alphanumerical value representing a unique identifier for this commodity group. Examples of this code would be Pipe, Valve or Flange. LOV available. Upper case.

  • Attribute Name: Enter or select via LOV the name (code) of an attribute [A.50.01]. Upper case.

  • Label Text: A short description of the selected attribute.

  • Attribute Unit: Attribute unit of measures [A.10.12].
