After you open a database or create a new one, you can use the Properties dialog box to modify its properties. Most of the property information displayed in the dialog box is stored in the database Information table and is identical to the properties that you define when you create a new database and to the property information that is displayed in the Database window status bar.

Click File > Properties. Alternatively, double-click the status bar in the Database window.
The Properties dialog box displays.

Modify the properties as needed and then click OK.

To change the database name, you must save the database with a different name.

Changing the Length units in the Properties dialog box only affects the current database. To change Length units for all databases, you must use the Tools > Options command.

To change the Item Code and Description text maps, you must use the Text Map Manager.
