The easiest and quickest way to copy reference table data from one database to another is to use the Reference Table Copy Utility to copy reference table data from a source database and paste it to a destination database. This utility is available on the Tools menu.

To use the copy utility, you must have at least two databases open.

You use the options on the Reference Table Copy Utility to first select the two databases to use: one database acts as the source, and the other acts as the destination. Then you specify the reference table data to copy and paste.

  1. Click Tools > Reference Table Copy Utility.

The Reference Table Copy Utility displays.

  2. Use the two Database lists to select the source and destination databases.

  3. In the Reference tables list under the source database, navigate the tree view to locate the reference table to copy and paste to the destination database, and then click Add to copy .

If the source database is in the left Database list (1), click .
    -OR-
If the source database is in the right Database list (2), click .

After the copy/paste process completes, the software updates the tree view for the destination database to displays the copied data.

  4. Click Close.

  • To add all the reference tables in a folder, select the folder, and then click Add to copy . Likewise, to select all the tables in a node, select the node, and then click Add to copy .

  • To exclude a selected table from being copied, click Remove from copy .
